Return to true Gor: Let’s start with making the meter less dominant

Well if you are a true Gorean and you read some or even all the books of John Norman would you expect that a craftsman, a weapon maker in  a city  would have a document with the standards a weapon should have to be approved? I ask myself, approved by whom? There is no such thing as the United Nations of Gor. Does a panther in Gor making her bow in the jungle have a list of requirements the bow should meet? I could not find anything about this in the books of John Norman.

In 2007 when Gor became more and more  a combat game  for many players. Things as meters and weapon standards were introduced so that every fighter had the same chance to win. People found this honest. Equal chances for everyone. Man and GE women.
But Gor is harsh and not about honesty at all. The whole concept of standard meters and weapon regulation is not Gor at all. The concept is valid for a combat game, where everyone participant should have the same chance to win and it is about having fighting skills.

Second Life is not a platform build for combat games. People (Pew-pewers) like to combat on SL because it is a paradise for cheaters,  who cannot  handle the combat games on other platforms. Those born loosers  come to enlarge their ego. Not to play Gor.
So the concept of weapon approvement ) by people who are in the weapons industry) is totally not Gor. With all the cheating going on it is nonsense.
Talking about nonsense some Sims will boot you if you don’t wear the meter they want you to wear. A boot curtain, how Gor is that? Many so called btb sims have that. The meter is made for a combat game not for Gor, because it is very unrealistic. How can you fight the same way with 5 arrows in your body as you have have none?

Ok a good fight in Gor can be fun and a meter is helpful. So I don’t say that sims should have no meter.
And weapons should be realistic and fit in the setting of Gor as described in the books.
But when you cannot roleplay on a Sim if you don’t wear the right meter something is very wrong. Because Gor is not about only combat. It is NOT a combat game.

So let’s start with making the meter far less dominant and go back to true Gor, with weaponry that fits in the concept of Gor as described in the books of John Norman.
